Another Cool New Tasting Room in the Antelope Valley!

Stephen Hemmert Wines had it's grand opening on Friday December 7 at its new tasting room in Lancaster CA. The new tasting room is located in an industrial area of Lancaster but just about a half mile from all the action on " The Blvd" in Lancaster. In fact you can now get a glass of Stephen Hemmert's wines at Pour D'Vino Wine Bar. It is also very close to the train station if you decide to take the train.

The tasting room is sleek and modern with a long bar and several tables. The lighting is subdued which is great. You feel like you are in a hip bar with its industrial feel and stylish furniture. Hemmert offers several wines that they make. Many of the grapes he grows on their property in Agua Dulce. He offers a Voignier, Rousanne, and Muscat. He also offers a blend of Voignier and Rousanne. He specializes in Zinfandels which he grows on his property and he also sources from Paso Robles. There is a great Tempranillo as well. Kismet is a blend of Zinfandel from their property and Malbec from Smith Ranch. What I like is that you can taste grape varieties and blends that you may not easily find in your typical tasting rooms.
Nicole and Stephen are behind the bar most of the time so you get the real story behind the making of the wine. Some tasting rooms you are just poured a glass without a lot of back story on how the wine was made. Not here. You get details on each wine which really enhances the experience. It isn't stuffy, if you don't know that much about wine this is a great place to go because I can guarantee you will get an education as you are tasting.

You can taste five wines for $10 and if you buy two bottles or join their wine club the tasting is free.
They process the wines at the facility in Lancaster and you can see wine aging in the barrels.

These are folks that care about wine making and it shows in the end result, the wine is exceptionally good.
